About Norwood Baptist Church
The purpose of our church is:
To glorify God by leading people to Jesus and a commitment to His family so they become like Christ and are equipped to do their ministry.
The purpose is based on some key scriptures:
The Great Commandment Matthew 22:36-40 Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments."
The Great Commission Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
Our organization reflects our purpose:
The various ministries in the church are organized by which aspect of our purpose statement they fulfill. Here is a quick outline:
Worship is to "love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind."
Ministry is to "love your neighbor as yourself."
Evangelism is to "go and make disciples of all nations."
Fellowship is "baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit."
Discipleship is to "teach them to obey everything I have commanded you."
The menu to the left is structured much the same way. Each section includes an overview as well as a brief description of the current ministries that fall into each group.
